The group's principal activity is to provide geophysical services for the marine oil field industry. The group operates through four segments: marine geophysical, onshore, production and petra. The marine geophysical segment acquires, processes and markets 3D, 4d and multi-component marine and onshore seismic data and provides 4d and multi-component reservoir interpretation, characterization and monitoring services. Onshore segment includes all seismic operations on land and in shallow water. The production services segment owns and operates floating production storage and offloading facilities, other offshore production facilities and provides production management services. Pertra is a small oil and gas company operating for the norwegian continental shelf. The customers of the group include oil and gas companies and seismic marketing companies. The group filed for chapter 11 proceedings on 29-Jul-2003 and emerged from proceedings on 05-Nov-2003.
